Mali: the death toll from the jihadist attack in Dioura rises to around a hundred soldiers killed – Journal de l’Afrique

In Mali, the toll of the attack carried out on September 10, 2026 by Jnim jihadists, linked to al-Qaeda, against the army camp in Dioura, in the Mopti region, is increasing. According to several sources, at least 100 Malian soldiers were killed, twice as many as the first estimates collected on the ground. Dozens of other soldiers were taken prisoner by the jihadists.
Also in the news: Vigils, marches and meditations: hundreds of demonstrators mobilized across South Africa on Friday evening to pay tribute to the nine women found murdered in eastern Johannesburg. In a country that records more than 60 homicides per day, the nine murders sent shock waves through the population. Anger is growing and calls are increasing for the government to act against violence against women.
