Man killed, woman injured in South Seattle shooting

Detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting in South Seattle that injured a woman and killed a man early Sunday morning.
Just before 1:00 a.m. Sunday evening, several people began calling 911 about a shooting in the 5800 block of 4th Avenue South. Two victims, a 36-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, were reportedly shot dead at a nearby nightclub.
Officers went to the club and found the man, who was providing security at the nightclub, already dead. The woman was found with a gunshot wound to her leg.
Officers rendered aid to the woman until medics from the Seattle Fire Department arrived. The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
Through the investigation and surveillance footage, officers determined that a vehicle entered the club’s parking lot and the driver fired several shots from the vehicle. The suspect vehicle then left the club and was found fully engulfed in flames less than an hour later in nearby South Seattle.
Homicide unit detectives and CSI detectives responded to the scene to begin investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.
Anyone with information, including video footage or information about a suspect, is asked to call the Seattle Police Department’s Violent Crime Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
