Marcus Mariota suffered a sprained MCL on Sunday
If Jayden Daniels isn’t ready to play in Week 5, rookie Athan Kaliakmanis could benefit from more playing time.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, quarterback Marcus Mariota suffered a sprained MCL during Sunday’s loss to the Colts.
Mariota previously suffered a sprained MCL during the preseason.
Mariota went down during the first quarter of Sunday’s game in London and was unable to return. This happened after Mariota managed to beat the defending champion Seahawks in week three. In his three appearances with two starts this season, Mariota has completed 64.7 percent of his passes for 340 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions.
Kaliakmanis completed 15 of 33 passes for 186 yards with a touchdown and an interception on Sunday.
As reported by the PFT on Sunday evening, commanders we hope Daniels can play during Sunday’s game against the Giants. But participation in practice will be a key factor in Daniels’ return from a dislocated left elbow. Daniels was limited in practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of last week.
