The Cleveland Browns saw one of their best players leave the field during the first quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Pittsburgh’s first offensive drive, Browns defensive tackle Mason Graham left the game after injuring his left knee. He was initially labeled questionable before being ruled out of the game early in the second half.
According to NFL Network, Graham is expected to miss a few weeks with a sprained MCL and high ankle sprain.
Graham underwent an MRI on Friday, which revealed he does not appear to have suffered an injury that would prevent him from participating long-term.
Graham appeared to get tangled with a Steelers offensive lineman before falling to the ground. He quickly received attention from Cleveland’s medical staff before leaving the field under his own power. He then went to the blue medical tent before heading to the locker rooms.
The fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Graham has had an exceptional season thus far. He entered the game with 4.0 sacks, including at least one sack in each of the Browns’ first three games. In Cleveland’s Week 3 win over the Carolina Panthers, Graham filled the stat sheet with 2.0 sacks and seven tackles (three for loss).
Graham, 23, enjoyed a stellar college career at Michigan from 2022 to 2024. In 2023, he played a key role in Michigan’s first national championship victory since 1997. On Thursday night, his former college teammate, Steelers player Roman Wilson, capped Pittsburgh’s opening drive with a touchdown.
