McDonald’s is expected to report third-quarter results before the bell on Wednesday.

Here’s what Wall Street analysts surveyed by LSEG expect the company to report:

  • Earnings per share: $3.38 expected
  • Income: $7.29 billion expected

Last quarter, McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski said the chain’s U.S. business was underperforming, hurt by uneven execution of its value offerings and complicated launches of new menu items. In response, the company chose Skye Anderson as its new President of the United States.

Analysts predict an even worse third quarter for McDonald’s domestic market. Wall Street expects same-store sales to decline 0.5%, according to StreetAccount estimates.

Investors will also be paying close attention to executives’ comments on the fourth quarter so far. Chipotle Mexican Grill Executives said last Wednesday that the restaurant industry saw traffic decline in October.

McDonald’s shares have fallen about 11% over the past year, weighed down by investor concerns about its U.S. operations, costly restaurant upgrade projects and the broader economy. The company has a market capitalization of approximately $186 billion.
