Mckenna Grace rejects nudity and sexuality in film roles
Mckenna Grace told Cosmopolitan magazine during her press tour for “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” that she turns down acting roles that require nudity because she dreams of one day playing a Disney princess on the big screen.
“At this point, I definitely don’t do nudity or very hypersexual things,” Grace told the publication when asked if there were any roles she would turn down. “I respect anyone who can, but it’s terrifying to me. I don’t know if that will ever change. It’s not like I only do wholesome things – my character is literally gutted by Ghostface in ‘Scream’ – but my dream is to try to become a Disney princess one day.”
Grace’s comment is reminiscent of Amy Adams, who became an iconic Disney princess in 2007 with her role as Giselle in “Enchanted,” then declined more raunchy fare in the years that followed in order to preserve that image of her for Disney fans. Adams turned down a NSFW “SNL” sketch, for example, because she was very loyal to her “Enchanted” fans. She ended up returning as Gisèle in the 2022 sequel “Disenchanted.”
“I’m not going to go into detail, but it was a song that would have been a duet with me and Amy Adams, and it was very dirty,” Andy Samberg once said on an episode of “The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers” podcast. “It was like we were both really old and we were on a picnic, an elderly couple, and one of us got stung by a scorpion. And then I die or something and the only deathbed complaint is that we haven’t explored things more sexually in our lives, and it’s this huge anthem about it.”
“She said to me, ‘That’s really funny. I can’t do that,'” Samberg added of Adams. “‘Little girls are so obsessed with ‘Enchanted’ right now. They’ll find this, and it’ll leave them scarred. I just can’t mix that right now.'”
Amanda Seyfried recently made headlines by saying she was no longer interested in roles that required her to act in sex scenes. She revealed at the Hamptons International Film Festival in September that she “even passed up a show where I would have to have sex all the time because of the sex. It doesn’t matter (who it’s with)… I don’t want to do it. I’m uncomfortable with it. I’m not into it right now.”
“Maybe if (the project) came back (later), maybe I would be in a different space. But I don’t want to end up naked with a stranger,” Seyfried added at the time.
