Mckenna Grace gets candid about the types of roles she’s not interested in at this stage of her career.

“I respect anyone who can, but it’s terrifying to me,” she said. “I don’t know if that will ever change. It’s not like I only do wholesome things – my character is literally gutted by Ghostface in (Scream 7) – but my dream is to try to become a Disney princess one day.

Grace, who already has dozens of film and television projects under her belt, rose to fame as a child actress. After landing her first commercial at the age of five, she quickly began making a name for herself before she was even a teenager with her roles in The Young and the Restless, Gifted, Me, Tonya And The Haunting of Hill Houseamong others.

THE Regret you The actress also opened up about how she handled the transition from child to adult on set, admitting that she likes having “a little more ownership” over her roles now.

“As a kid on set, you’re supposed to act like an adult until you’re on camera. Then you’re a kid until everyone is mad at you because you’re acting like a kid,” she said. “Now it’s cool to be an adult and be able to give my opinion and take a little more ownership of the characters. I really enjoyed sitting down with the producers and pitching all my ideas.”

As Grace settles into adulthood, she has already landed several major projects, from Regret you has Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has Scream 7and she is now preparing the worldwide release of Sunrise over the harvest on November 20.

When The Hollywood Reporter After meeting the actress at the film’s UK premiere in October, she admitted that taking on the role of Maysilee was “daunting and insane”, especially after seeing all the early fancasts for her to play Haymitch’s (Joseph Zada) ally in the arena.

“I think what took some of the pressure off was the fact that people generally seemed to respond well to my casting, which isn’t always the case,” Grace said. “It meant so much to me that the fans loved me as Maysilee because I was like, ‘I don’t even know if I like myself as Maysilee! How am I going to do this justice?’ Like, facing something like this in a franchise that I care so deeply about and a character that means everything to me. It has been so intimidating and insane.
