Meghan Markle Lunches With Malala Yousafzai in Oversized Fall Layers
Duchess Meghan’s address book must read like the guest list at a fundraising gala. She spends time with Oprah Winfrey and Serena Williams. His longtime friends are nonprofit founders and television producers/writers. She spent years rubbing shoulders with royals and international political leaders. Now you can add activist and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai to that inner circle.
Earlier this week, the Duchess of Sussex made a rare public outing while having lunch with the Pakistani human rights activist at Claridge’s in London.
For the occasion, Meghan pulled out a high-end fall look featuring her usual mix of chic and luxe neutrals, but in a more oversized presentation that she tends to favor.
As a base, Meghan tucked an ivory cashmere sweater from Co into icy white high-waisted pants. The casual palazzo pant took the “wide leg” concept to the next level and featured pleats all around for an added element of drama.
Meghan added more volume to the look with her caramel brown shawl from Tove Studio, with its chunky ruffles that swirled around her like curtains.
For accessories, she turned to some of her favorite jewelry from Logan Hollowell, including her diamond and emerald chain necklace and Aura Sleeve ring, as well as her must-have Cartier Love bracelet and Tank watch. Meanwhile, she added to her cocoa color palette with a set of camel loafers from Saint Laurent, while giving everything a subtle contrast with a black quilted camera bag from Chanel.
For her part, Yousafzai wore a sand blazer over a chocolate blouse and pinstriped pants, while complementing everything with brown leather heels and an ecru scarf.
Since Meghan and Prince Harry returned to the UK in August, the Duchess has been seen meeting several different stars, including Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi.
But the last time Meghan publicly connected with Yousafzai was in October 2020, when the two had a joint video chat (with Harry) for International Day of the Girl Child. After the event, Yousafzai took to social media to write: “Meghan and I are on the same page: we both believe that when girls have access to education, everyone wins. »
