Meghan Markle pays tribute to Montecito home 1 month after moving to UK
Meghan Markle’s latest product proves she misses Montecito.
The Duchess of Sussex announced via Instagram on Wednesday the launch of a Christmas Advent calendar “inspired by” the garden at her California home, a month after moving with Prince Harry to the United Kingdom.
“A little holiday magic is on the way,” the 45-year-old actress wrote in the social media caption. “24 days of sweet surprises, made for the joy of waiting. Our very first Advent calendar arrives tomorrow.”
The upload gave a close-up look at the box, which featured an illustration of the $14 million mansion the couple purchased in 2020.
The image also depicted the couple’s chickens, which remained in Montecito when Markle and Harry moved away.
The numbers on the box, as well as the chocolates themselves, appear to be written in the “Deal or No Deal” alum’s handwriting.
“A magical celebration of the season,” reads the inside flap of the calendar. “Twenty-four artisan chocolates to sweeten every day, carefully inspired by our Montecito garden.”
The product, which will cost buyers $148, is also stamped with the brand’s As Ever logo, a pair of intertwined palm trees that pay homage to the Montecito property.
Markle shared throwback footage via Instagram Stories on Thursday of when she and Compartés chocolatier Jonathan Grahm were “planning Christmas in June.”
In the video, set to Michael Bublé’s “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” the duo rode on a golf cart as Markle urged Grahm, 42, to “hang in there” and he told social media users to “stay tuned.”
The clip ended with Markle and Harry’s dog Pula carrying an As Ever raspberry jam stuffed animal in her mouth.
The flavors of the “souvenir” Advent calendar, according to a Compartés newsletter, “will draw inspiration from As Ever’s favorites,” from the fruit spreads and marmalades of the old “Suits” to its “own flower nuggets.”
Markle, who launched her brand in 2025, crossed the Atlantic with Harry, 42, and their two children – Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5 – in August.
While the ‘With Love, Meghan’ star has since kept a low profile, she has been spotted in the Cotswolds on several occasions.
The little ones are enrolled in school, despite multiple security alerts, and Harry, for his part, has gone out for a multitude of public appearances without his wife.
Meanwhile, their Montecito home has “people still maintaining the property,” with Page Six learning in September that “no one is moving in.”
