Meghan Markle’s Former Agent Makes Chilling Comment About Duchess’ Career After Splitting In 2025
Meghan Markle’s former agent, Ari Emanuel, thinks it’s “great” to no longer work with her.
The businessman and media mogul confirmed he split from her last year in an interview with the Sunday Times published on Saturday. When asked where he thought his career was going to head, he gave a straight answer.
“Here’s the great thing: I don’t have to think about it anymore,” he said.
Emanuel is the executive chairman of entertainment and media agency WME Group, and his high-profile clients include Oprah Winfrey, Mark Wahlberg, Ben Affleck, Dwayne Johnson and Kim Kardashian.
Despite Emanuel’s comments, a WME spokesperson told Page Six on Tuesday that the agency still represents Markle as well as Archewell (her company with her husband, Prince Harry.)
Markle signed with WME in April 2023. Less than two years later, multiple sources told Page Six in February 2025 that WME had dropped Markle, although the agency denied it at the time, telling us in a statement: “WME continues to represent Meghan and Archewell.”
But we’re told the mother-of-two hasn’t had any meetings with Emanuel since January 2024 – although she is said to have met with his agents daily.
An industry insider said the Duchess of Sussex was fired because she was “too demanding” and “difficult to work with”.
We also heard that Markle and Emanuel had a falling out after the “Suits” alum had an outburst in January 2024, when she demanded a meeting “and was expecting decks and plans,” though it’s unclear if it was for herself or Archewell.
“Ari was done with her,” a close source said.
Markle signed her deal with WME to make her a “power player” in Hollywood, sources told Page Six in May 2023.
“Even though she is, of course, an actress, it’s not about movies or shows that Meghan has to star in, it’s about creating projects that she has to produce – she wants to direct the show,” a close source told us.
A second source told us: “With Archewell now being replaced by WME, it strengthens Harry and Meghan’s bid to become power players in the production field. »
Markle, 45, and Harry, 42, have of course since returned to the UK with their two children – Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
The couple still has several ways to earn a lot of money. Harry can now get nearly $1 million for exclusive speaking engagements, a branding expert told Page Six.
“Harry’s royal title and personality can still hurt an event’s budget,” Eric Schiffer, president of Reputation Management Consultants, told us exclusively earlier this month.
“For a keynote speech, he earns between $250,000 and $750,000 and for elite and exclusive events, almost a million dollars,” he continued.
Although Schiffer also told us about Harry’s charity appearances, “not all of these stops are scams with hidden checks.” »
He explained, “A lot of his mic will largely be unpaid, but he gets attention, and that keeps him in the spotlight and can be reserved for other things.”
