“Is this real?” » asked the MAGA podcaster.
MAGA loyalist Megyn Kelly has entered a state of shocked disbelief over the poll numbers for the South Carolina Senate race.
A New York Times/A Siena poll found that the race between Republican incumbent Darline Graham, 62, and Democratic challenger Annie Andrews, 45, is “effectively tied” on Wednesday. South Carolina has not elected a Democrat to the Senate this century.
“South Carolina is now tied,” Kelly, 55, said on his podcast. “Is this real?”
Sen. Darline Graham faced numerous challenges during her election campaign, including a revealing documentary about her late brother and support for her opponent from members of her own party.
President Donald Trump, 80, appointed Graham to serve the remainder of his brother Lindsey’s term after his death in July; she then decided to run for a full term with Trump’s support, despite indications that she is both underqualified and unpopular. South Carolina’s former governors, Republican David Beasley and Democrat Jim Hodges, endorsed Andrews in a major snub for Graham.
Graham has been in trouble since the Republican primary, when she said during a debate, “National security is not my thing.” Trump excused the statement by explaining that Graham “understands that national security is my thing.”

“If your surgeon said appendectomies aren’t really his thing, would you still give him a scalpel? No,” Andrews said during an October debate against Graham. “So why would we give Darline Graham a full term in the United States Senate? She is neither serious nor qualified.”

Kelly worries about what Graham’s loss could mean for Trump.
“Oh, my lord,” Kelly said. “If she loses, it will definitely be blamed on Trump, because the only reason Darline Graham is a senator from South Carolina is because her brother died. Trump had her take his seat and then said, ‘She’ll have to be the nominee.’ We want her to be the candidate to be able to run.”
“Making her the nominee was always risky,” Kelly added. “It happened because Trump made it happen.”
Trump will hold a rally in South Carolina on Thursday, marking his second visit to the state before the midterm general elections in November. Kelly speculated that his team has “internal surveys that show them there are problems,” which prompted the visit.
U.S. President Donald Trump listens to U.S. Senator Darline Graham (R-SC) during a campaign rally August 21, 2026 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
“The president is wasting no time in the run-up to Election Day the week before by going to South Carolina, which is redder than red, if he doesn’t have to,” Kelly said. “I mean, we shouldn’t lose to the red team, or rational, to South Carolina.”
Andrews agrees that Trump’s sporadic visit indicates Graham’s urgent need for help with his campaign.
“I think this continues to speak to her weakness as a senator and a candidate,” Andrews said. “She needs the highest levels of her party to come here and save her campaign. »
