Messi is Argentina’s all-time leader in caps and goals scored, and he memorably led the team to victory in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Messi and company. He narrowly missed a repeat at this year’s World Cup, losing to Spain in the 2026 final.
Officials say all 85,000 seats at Monumental Stadium have been sold and thousands more fans are expected to gather in surrounding streets for a chance to bid farewell to the sporting legend.
