Meta Launches Muse Wonder AI Model Family With Leading Performance
Meta (META)’s extensive investments in its Meta Superintelligence Labs continue to pay off as the company unveiled its AI models, Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, on Monday.
According to the social media giant, the models available today are designed to deliver “cutting-edge” performance for personal and professional AI agents and put the company squarely in the conversation about cutting-edge AI.
The software will eventually further power the company’s Muse AI agent, which Meta launched early last month and has exploded in popularity.
The company claims that Muse Wonder and Wonder Full come with Active Memory and Active Focus. According to Meta, Active Memory allows AI models to bring the information you need across conversations, so you don’t have to start from scratch every time you chat with the AI.
Active Focus ensures that the AI continues working on a task even if it encounters errors or obstacles. Meta says he will also ask you for clarification or permission to perform tasks.
The company claims that Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full can take on models such as Anthropic’s powerful Fable 5.1 (ANTH.PVT), OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra (OPAI.PVT), and Google’s Gemini 4 Argon (GOOG, GOOGL) in certain benchmarks.
This is a huge step in the right direction for Meta, which was also considered a contender in the AI race this time last year.

However, this also comes at a high cost. The company has invested tens of billions of dollars, including $14 billion in Evolving AI to acquire and hire co-founder and CEO Alexandr Wang, who now serves as Meta’s Chief AI Officer.
The spending spree, which also saw Meta poach workers and AI experts from fellow tech giants, put serious pressure on the company’s stock price.
Meta’s shares are up just 6% over the past 12 months, slightly better than Microsoft’s, which has climbed a measly 5%.
The companies’ hyperscaler competitors, Amazon and Google, meanwhile, jumped about 20% and 45%, respectively, during the same period.
But with the debut of Meta’s Agent Muse and the unveiling of its Muse Charm device, which will hit the market later this year, the company has managed to overturn the narrative that it can’t hang with the major AI companies.
Next, the company will need to demonstrate whether its software successes are paying off in terms of its financial results.
