Miami Heat Announces New ‘Vice City’ Jerseys Release Day Before ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ Release
November will see the launch of what is by far the biggest video game release of all time, and perhaps the biggest entertainment release, when “Grand Theft Auto VI” hits shelves.
Or is coming to the PlayStations of those of us who pre-ordered it (*raises hand*).
The game largely takes place in “Vice City,” a fictionalized version of Miami, and it appears the Miami Heat are participating in the promotion.

The team announced Friday that it will debut its new “Vice City” jerseys on November 18 against the Milwaukee Bucks (which is a notable game for another reason), the day before GTA VI’s big release on November 19.
According to the team’s website, the Heat’s new duds will be “new, completely reinvented” outfits for the occasion.
The video also shows the roof of the Kaseya Center, which features a large “Welcome to Vice City” sign with the game’s Roman numeral “VI” logo next to it.
That evening, the team will use a special “Vice City” pitch and, as with any good promotional campaign, there will be plenty of merchandise available.
As far as I can remember, there has never been a sports/video game tie-in like this, at least for a non-sports game.

This won’t just be a video game release. It’s going to transcend a whole bunch of different pop-cultural avenues, and this is one of them.
Good luck escaping the “Grand Theft Auto VI” barrage we’re going to face over the next few months.
Personally, I completely agree. Like many people, I’ve been waiting for this thing to come out for over a decade. It’s going to be crazy to finally dig into it.

Now if they could just get to work on a sequel to “LA Noire” it would be greatly appreciated.
