Michael Douglas reveals if his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones has read his racy memoir
Michael Douglas hopes Catherine Zeta-Jones will be “very understanding” of his racy new memoir.
In an exclusive interview with Page Six, the 82-year-old actor revealed that his wife, 57, hasn’t yet finished reading “One Helluva Ride,” which was released Tuesday and features a glimpse into their married years, as well as wild stories from her past life.
“She was a little girl then,” Douglas joked, referring to her decision to resurrect her past romances and secret affairs for the tell-all book.
“She’s (reading) it right now. She just got back (from working) on the third season of ‘Wednesday.'” (Zeta-Jones plays Morticia Addams in the hit Netflix series, which also stars Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers and Hunter Doohan.)
However, Douglas noted that he had already “spoken to” her about the book – and insisted he had “no regrets” about being so frank about it.
“I’m glad I got him out,” the Oscar-winning actor, married to “soul mate” Zeta-Jones since November 2000, exclaimed to Page Six.
“We’re in our 26th year (of marriage) and I really enjoy her company. She’s so talented and funny.”
The actor hasn’t been shy about discussing his colorful past in his memoir, including his affairs with Kathleen Turner while filming “Romancing the Stone” and with Jeanne Tripplehorn during “Basic Instinct.”
The “Wall Street” star also opened up about his past struggles with cocaine and alcohol in the tome, which landed him in rehab, as well as his son Cameron’s struggles with addiction, which landed him a seven-year prison sentence.
The “Fatal Attraction” star welcomed Cameron, now 47, during his first marriage to Diandra Luker. He is also the father of sons Dylan, 26, and daughter Carys, 23, with Zeta-Jones.
Douglas told Page Six that cocaine use was “rampant” in Hollywood in the ’70s and ’80s.
“I didn’t have to (include it), but I was just sharing my experience,” he said of his decision to keep the bomb, which he called his “little tale of caution” in his book.
“Having a little bit of age behind me and looking back on it… (cocaine) was a really ridiculous drug and a lot of people were using, including my son, and a lot of others.”
“One Helluva Ride” is available now.
