Mikie Sherrill wants to move on
TRENTON, New Jersey — Governor of New Jersey. Mike Sherrill hasn’t had many plans outside the Garden State in recent weeks.
An investigation into her behavior of the lieutenant governoranchored his midterm campaign for like-minded Democrats in other states, and has prompted scrutiny of the leadership style she so often adopted as a candidate and during her first months in office.
But now that she is forced resignation of the lieutenant governor. Dale Caldwell, Sherrill is back on track and looking to carry out some legislative priorities focused on affordability and children’s mental health, she told POLITICO in an interview last week. The next day, she traveled to the Midwest to campaign in Ohio for governor. Amy Acton and speaking at a pro-abortion rights event in Chicago.
She depicted the distractions of the Caldwell scandal – as well as a investigation of non-citizens added to the electoral rolls before taking up their duties – as unavoidable aspects of the job.
