Today, Colom, a 43-year-old prosecutor for several northeast Mississippi counties, has growing hope among top Democratic officials and donors that he can do the inconceivable and use this year’s poor political environment for Republicans to win a Senate race that just months ago was nowhere in the party’s 2026 plans.
