Moss Landing shooting leaves several dead in Central California

Several people have been killed and injured in a shooting in Monterey County.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the deaths.

The shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. Monday along Jetty Road in Moss Landing.

California State Park Police closed Jetty Road and Moss Landing State Beach after the sheriff’s office requested it.

However, the sheriff’s office confirmed that “there is no active threat to the Moss Landing community at this time.”

“This is an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time,” the sheriff’s office said Monday, Nov. 2, before 9 a.m.

The California Post reached out to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office for further comment but did not immediately receive a response.
