It will be a full Gemini Intelligence device, entitling it to Google’s most comprehensive list of AI features. Moto says the Signature 27 will benefit from Google’s agent control of apps, Create My Widget, Sign-to-Text and Rambler voice typing. However, these features will arrive “in the coming months” as most of these features are still limited to Pixel phones.
Moto still offers a parallel set of AI features on its phones. Features like Catch me up (notification summaries) and Pay Attention (meeting notes) are still supported, but the company seems to have abandoned the Moto AI brand. Instead, it’s all part of Motorola Qira, an AI platform that also connects your Motorola phone to Lenovo computers.
But what if you don’t want any of that? The Motorola Signature 27 will offer an unusual level of choice. This is the first Moto phone covered by its partnership with GrapheneOS. This privacy-focused operating system is built on top of Android, but it doesn’t have Google apps or any of the tracking systems that come with it.
Motorola has no plans to ship a version of the Signature 27 with GrapheneOS preloaded, so it will be up to buyers to install it. Details on this process will be provided later, but it should be similar to Pixel phones: unlock the bootloader, flash the software, and enjoy.
A few months ago, the Graphene team revealed that the first device in its Moto collaboration would be priced higher than Pixels, and that certainly holds true. Motorola is asking $1,599.99 for the Signature 27, which puts it above even high-end flagship phones from Samsung and Apple. It’s also less than $300 from foldable phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Motorola’s Razr Fold (both MSRP $1,900). Even the iPhone Duo only costs $400 more than Moto’s new flagship panel.
Moto has not yet announced any partnerships with operators. So you’ll need to purchase the device directly from Motorola, Best Buy, or Amazon when it goes on sale on November 26. Pre-orders will be available from November 19th if you wish.
