Yesterday, Wizards revealed the full list of Star Trek stardates cards on their WeeklyMTG feed, and it’s full of heat. It contains great cards from Magic history reimagined as Star Trek characters and, no matter what you think of Universes Beyond, some of them are valuable cards. Several of them are even getting their first reprint here, and I have a valuable report for you.

If you want more Star Trek spoilers, check out Draftsim’s TRK Spoiler page.

What are Stardates cards?

The Stardates chart is a subset of 30 charts with the SDS defined code associated with Star Trek. Unlike a traditional bonus sheett as Secrets of StrixhavenMystical Archive or other bonus sheets with a variety of rarities, the 30 SDS cards are mythic rares that can be opened in Play Boosters and Collector Boosters, with the following breakdown (from Wizards’ Collecting Star Trek article):

  • Play boosters: 1 in 25 game boosters will have a non-foil stardate card instead of a common card. Foil Stardates cards are exclusive to collector booster packs.
  • Collection Boosters: Each Booster Collector has 2 slots for rare or mythic rare Booster Fun treatments; 23.1% of the time it will contain a non-foil stardate map; 5%, it contains a traditional aluminum stardate map.

Star Date Value Report

This is a list of all 30 Stardates cards with their value, and perhaps a comment on the card. All prices are the TCGPlayer market price of the original base printing of the card as of October 27, 2026. It is impossible to predict the actual value of these bonus cards, but it should largely correlate with the value of the base printing.

Flare of Fortitude is definitely the most valuable card here as a free protection spell. Although Kenrith, the Returned King has seen enough reprints that you can’t call him valuable, he is very notable as one of the most flexible five-color commanders.

Sisay, Weatherlight Captain is in a similar place to Kenrith: heavily reprinted but also very popular, especially among cEDH players. Thada Adel, Acquisitor, and Empress Galina are extremely fun steal cards in Commander that play well in the lower brackets.

This section has powerful mono-blue commanders Arcum Dagsson and Bruvac, the Grandiloquent, the latter of whom is particularly notable as one of the few significant mill commanders.

The first stellar date card we saw was Sheoldred, the Apocalpyse disguised as Benedict Cumberbatch; As much as it has become a meme, it is also the most valuable and one of the most powerful cards on the list. Which is not to say that Drivnod, Carnage Dominus or Torbran, Thane of Red Fell are insignificant; these are excellent support cards for their respective strategies.

Rishkar, Peema Renegade is in the running for the cheapest card on the list because it’s been reprinted in virtually every +1/+1 counter commander precon… but it’s good enough to justify it. Bristly Bill, Spine Sower is a much more valuable +1/+1 counter card that is amazing in many contexts.

Sen Triplets is one of the fiercest Espers () commanders, and notable as an excellent controlling commander, even if the drift of power has not been kind. Tatyova, Benthic Druid is a good landing card, although it’s no longer a meaningful commander with Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait monopolizing Simic () landing, and I think Hull Breach should be used more in Casual Commander as a flexible removal spell.

Here we have more decent commanders in Isshin, Two Heavens as One and Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain. Ertai Resurrected is a pretty decent Brawl commander and one of my favorite Cube cards; I love the flexibility.

In one way or another, every iteration of Sisay makes a great commander, so Captain Sisay is also worth playing, even if he’s not as popular as his five-color counterpart. Speaking of niche commanders, Riku of Many Paths sees some play, but facing a dilemma mechanic could strengthen this since modal spells receive new support. Of course, the most notable card on this sheet is Prosper, Tome-Bound, one of the best Rakdos () commanders of the game thanks to its combination of ramp and card advantage.

Minamo, School at Water’s Edge is one of the biggest hitters on the list as a land with no downside (in a singleton format) and a very cheap untap that only gets better as wizards print more legendary creatures. Stella Lee, Wild Card is quite notable as a powerful spellcaster commander, especially for combo spirits, and Mogis, God of Slaughter is a party staple.

Our final sheet is a real firecracker, featuring three of the most powerful Commander utility lands. Talon Gates of Madara does everything as a ramp spell that is also protection or interaction, so it’s a perfect tutor target for crop rotation. The Phyrexian Tower supercharges sacrificial commanders with a ramp and free sacrifice exit. Shizo, Death’s Storehouse is fantastic with any Dark Commander that wants to deal combat damage and, like Minamo, only ages better.

Overall, there is a ton of value in this bonus sheet. And even if some cards are not the most valuable, they are very playable. I can’t claim to care much about the artistic choices, but many of these cards are good hits.

Which star date charts are first time reprints?

Several of these cards are receiving a reprint for the first time (looking at a base printing in an expansion or precon Commander or the List; I don’t consider Secret Lairs a reprint due to limited availability). Here is a list of cards benefiting from their first reprint:
