The shocking moment a three-year-old girl was seen hanging from a 12th floor apartment has been caught on camera.
The dramatic footage shows the young child clinging to the side of the building in the city of Zhangping, China, as a neighbor and a security guard frantically try to save her.
The two worried men can be seen hanging precariously from a ground floor window, while holding up a small white stool to support the girl.
The three-year-old was allegedly left home alone while her mother went shopping, she said. South China Morning Post reports.
It appears the girl slipped through a window before getting her head stuck in a metal security grill, leaving the rest of her body dangling over the edge of the tall building.
The incident happened around 7:48 a.m. Saturday, and residents said News from Beijing they rushed to help after photos of the child’s plight were shared in a group chat.
Firefighters finally rescued the girl after breaking down the apartment door. She was not injured during the terrible ordeal, but was taken to hospital for an examination as a precaution.
The child’s father, who was at work at the time, thanked his neighbors and property management for their heroic efforts.
