The death toll from Wednesday’s attack on King Fahd International Airport in eastern Saudi Arabia has risen to two.
The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority said the victims were a Saudi citizen and an Indian national living in the kingdom, according to the Associated Press. Eight other people were injured in the attack, the agency said.
Houthi rebels reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack on Telegram on Thursday, adding that their forces also targeted the Saudi Defense Ministry in the capital, Riyadh, as well as an Aramco facility in Yanbu, where a fire broke out. However, the group provided no evidence of the strike against the ministry, according to the AP.
The incident comes after another airport, King Khalid International Airport, was the target of another suspected Houthi missile attack earlier this month, which reportedly killed 14 people and led to the closure of the airport.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
