Netanyahu posts image of atomic bomb on Tel Aviv: ‘Nothing else will matter’
Alongside the image, Netanyahu cited Yuval Bloomberg, an Israeli writer and political commentator best known for his book The Oslo Trap, which critically examines the 1993 Oslo Accords and their consequences for Israeli security.

“The State of Israel faces a real and tangible existential threat,” Bloomberg wrote. “If the Iranians get nuclear weapons, nothing else will matter. Everything is so insignificant compared to the existential danger posed by Iran and the Shiite axis.”
The message also reiterates the argument that Israel has only two more years under U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration to confront the Iranian threat, portraying the disputes that dominate Israeli politics as a diversion from the country’s most pressing security challenge.
“Qatar, the ultra-Orthodox, Urich, military conscription, warnings. It’s all a giant smokescreen designed to cover up the problem that dominates everything else,” the message read. “If two atomic bombs fall on central Israel, who will care about all these senseless controversies?”
The image and accompanying message emerged as Israel entered the home stretch of its election campaign, with voters set to cast their ballots on Tuesday (October 27). Netanyahu highlighted the Iranian threat throughout the campaign, arguing that confronting Tehran’s nuclear ambitions must remain Israel’s top national priority.
Golan, a former IDF deputy chief of staff and chairman of the Democratic Party, condemned the post and accused the prime minister of trying to scare voters.
“The Israeli prime minister released an image of an atomic bomb falling on Tel Aviv,” Golan said. “I ask that he be kept away from social networks. The man and his entourage have lost their minds. The pressure is mounting.”
Golan also linked his criticism directly to the upcoming elections, saying: “On Tuesday we will replace those who are sowing panic and restore security and sanity to Israel.”
