A sad update for Wednesday fans are wondering when they will get a third season.
The good news is that the third season of Netflix’s supernatural hit has just finished production.
The bad news is that this still means a long wait for new episodes given the show’s extensive post-production effects work.
There was a three-year gap between the first season (2022) and the second season (2025). The wait for season three will almost certainly be a bit shorter, with a return next fall seeming very plausible given that the second season had an eight-month lead time after filming wrapped.
Netflix declined to add further updates on the series, which stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, a dour student and detective at Nevermore Academy.
The rest of the season three cast includes Eva Green, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Billie Piper, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Victor Dorobantu, Evie Templeton, Oscar Morgan, Kennedy Moyer with Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joanna Lumley, Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, James Lance and Fred Armisen.
The first season of Wednesday became the most-watched English-language original series of all time on Netflix (the first season of Squid game ranks first among all shows). Season two also performed well, ranking 6th among English-language television seasons of all time.
