Today we were saddened to learn of the passing of Pro Football Hall of Fame and Bears legend Mike Ditka. For more details, please read our initial news article.
Who wants good news on Caleb Williams? Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson shared encouraging updates regarding the progress of his injured starting quarterback.
More from 104.3 The Score’s Chris Emma, who shares a quote from the Bears head coach:
“We’ve gotten him to gradually increase the amount of running, and of course the throwing aspect is a big part of his stance as well. Our guys have a good plan in place and we’re taking it step by step right now.”
It is not an update I was waiting for today. But I like pleasant surprises, so I’ll take the good news that Williams is progressing in his rehabilitation without thinking twice.

A Status Report From Caleb Williams Tops New Bears Injury Report
Speaking of good news, check out the Bears injury report:
It’s not much, but having Caleb Williams upgraded on the injury report (AND LISTED AS QUESTIONABLE!) is better than the alternative of yet another DNP next to his name. Stop and think about it for a moment. Williams had been listed as a non-participant in practice all week. Hell, he hadn’t practiced in any capacity since suffering a hamstring injury in the Bears’ Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. So anything that looked like news that suggested progress was considered a clear victory in my book. I can’t wait to see what the injury report looks like next Wednesday.
As for the rest of the final Bears-Packers injury report of the week:
- I’m not going to read too much Caleb Williams being listed as doubtful. But not being excluded is a fun development that I won’t overlook.
- The following players join QB1 as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Packers: CB Kyler Gordon (calf), LB Noah Sewell (Achilles) and DL Shemar Turner (knee). Let the disc show itself there East a place on the open list. Could the Bears activate someone from injured reserve? Stay tuned.
- The following players participated in practice Friday and do not have a game day designation next to their name: RG Jonas Jackson (ankle), DB Cam Lewis (hip), RB By André Swift (hip, knee), LG Joe Thuney (pectoral), RT Darnell Wright (ankle).
