Newcastle United v Everton player ratings: Who covered their face after missing a golden opportunity?

Jordan Pickford: The former Sunderland goalkeeper was predictable in the face of incessant beatings from the home fans, but he had the last laugh. 7

Jake O’Brien: Helped his side to a third successive Premier League victory at St James’ Park as the Toffees recorded their fourth clean sheet of the season in the top flight. 7

James Tarkowski: Impressive performance from a captain as Everton won a Premier League away game for the first time since February. 7

Jarrad Branthwaite: Made a winning return to the team after missing the previous two games due to concussion protocols. 7

Vitali Mykolenko: Clean and tidy. I worked hard as the Toffees catapulted the table from 14th to 7th. 7

Merlin Rohl: The German provided energy, put himself in dangerous positions and went close with a first-half effort that went over the bar. 7

Harrison Armstrong: He covered his face with his jersey after missing a great chance to give his team the lead just before half-time. 7

James Garner: A realistic performance, the kind David Moyes loves. Played his part in a great away victory. 8

Tyrique Georges: Heavily involved in the goal. It was his shot that led to the error that gave Everton the lead. 7

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: I got stuck and swung the bar with effort. 7

Thierno Barry: I can’t stop scoring. Although it was the easiest goal he had ever scored in his life after a screamer from the keeper. 7

Brennan Johnson (out of 80, Thierno Barry): Helped his team cross the finish line. 5

Michael Keane (on 82, Jarrad Branthwaite): Helped Everton earn a clean sheet. 5
