NFL looks into incident between Vikings’ Eric Wilson and referee Adrian Hill
A strange incident took place during Sunday’s Vikings-Dolphins game when referee Adrian Hill was knocked to the ground and then confronted by Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson.
THE The NFL examines the fileaccording to ESPN.
On the play in question, Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon was blocking Wilson after the play was broken down, pushing Wilson into Hill and knocking Hill down. Hill stood up, faced Wilson, yelled at him and sent him back to his group. Hill did not throw a flag, but many people watching the game thought Hill overreacted by yelling at Wilson.
Wilson said after the game that he thought it was no big deal.
βIt was funny, honestly,β Wilson said. “I ended up apologizing to him and explaining the situation to him. He was cool about it. He understood what was going on. He just said he didn’t want me and (Gordon) to argue. He said he was just trying to break us up.”
The altercation between Wilson and Hill was one of a few between players and officials Sunday. Official Jeff Seeman appeared shouting obscenities to Cardinals tight end Trey McBride and Patriots coach Mike Vrabel was reported for using an obscenity towards a public official.
