NFL Network: Eagles QB Jalen Hurts likely out for remainder of 2026 season due to blood clots | Latest NFL News, Analysis and Updates
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 season as he undergoes treatment for blood clots, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Monday.
Hurts’ recovery is expected to take three months, Rapoport and Schefter reported, casting doubt on his return this season. He was placed on injured reserve on Saturday, which ruled him out for at least four weeks.
Hurts was first ruled out last Thursday for Philly’s Week 6 game due to a superficial blood clot in his calf. Now the Eagles QB is diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary embolism, or blood clotting in his lungs, according to a statement from the team and Hurts’ agent, Nicole Lynn.
Hurts is “clinically stable and has no significant functional limitations,” according to the team and Lynn.
