Loop’s kick on Sunday didn’t erase the previous big miss or guarantee anything about his future. However, it provided oxygen to a flickering flame. This one kick could have restarted a career.

The Steelers offense showed some life in a 30-27 win over the Bengals, with Aaron Rodgers finally hitting some deep shots after two weeks of incomplete losing. If Pittsburgh’s offense can continue to splash plays and Rodgers isn’t broken in two, the Steelers will be tough.

Cincinnati’s defense has returned to the pack a bit after an excellent start to the season. It’s not really a surprise. However, that’s not why Cincy lost. The special teams issues were the real killer, as the punt team gave the Steelers extra chances. Joe Burrow still had a late shot, but a fumble on the final drive sealed it. It’s a crushing loss to a division rival, but one that shouldn’t worry Bengals fans.

The Browns defense was locked in again to improve to 2-1, thwarting Bryce Young and a Panthers offense that had moved the ball well in the first two weeks. Deshaun Watson showed that when he avoids the big mistake, he can be a net positive for Cleveland and make game-winning plays. It’s new.
