NFL Week 6 Picks: Upset and Score Predictions, Matchup Breakdowns for Every Game | Latest NFL News, Analysis and Updates
Why Gennaro chose the 49ers: Following Washington’s all-time brain fart to snatch the tie from the jaws of victory, it’s hard to even remember what happened in that game before its inexplicable ending. And that’s unfortunate for Jayden Daniels. This afternoon will forever be marred by his 60th and final snap, but he looked damn dynamic in the first 59. Daniels showed no ill effects from the dislocated left elbow that cost him the previous two and a half games, completing 17 of 25 passes for 199 yards and gagging the Giants for 103 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries. Frankly, he looked like Jayden 2024, the guy who ran away with Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and guided the Commanders to the NFC title game. He’s the kind of preternatural playmaker who could, in theory, lead an overmatched team to a huge upset on the road. Add in the fact that 49ers LB Dre Greenlaw is suspended for Monday night’s game, and it’s not hard to imagine last week’s ultimate embarrassment giving way to some prime-time redemption. Just one problem: The Niners have another linebacker named Fred Warner. You know, the best football fan? Talk about showing no ill effects from injury… A little over a year after the horrific ankle fracture/dislocation that ended his 2025 campaign, Warner is flying around the field like he never left it. And in this Island game to close out Week 6, I think he plays a starring role, sparking discussion about an off-ball linebacker winning Defensive Player of the Year for the first time since Luke Kuechly in 2013.
