NFL will ‘review’ new allegations against Josh Jacobs
The NFL was already reviewing the case of Packers running back Josh Jacobs following a no-contest plea to misdemeanor battery stemming from an incident in May 2026. The league is currently investigating. additional allegations which were recently revealed.
“We will review these allegations as part of the investigation which remains open,” the NFL said in a statement on Saturday.
Police records released Friday revealed three other women came forward with allegations of violence against Jacobs, after the first incident came to light. The league will likely have to identify the individuals and then attempt to persuade them to cooperate.
This greatly increases the potential discipline that could potentially be imposed on Jacobs. He will get credit for the six games he missed on paid leave, with the requirement to forfeit the salary he received.
With the personal conduct policy creating a base six-game suspension without pay for each incident of domestic violence, as well as enhanced penalties for repeat offenses, Jacobs could face a lengthy suspension.
More immediately, the question remains whether the Packers will move on from Jacobs. The team had no comment Saturday morning in response to news that three other women had made allegations against Jacobs.
Despite all this, the video of the May 2026 incident remains hidden from the public. The NFL wants to see him before finalizing its punishment for the incident that prompted a no-contest plea.
