Nick Sirianni: More answers Wednesday on the status of Saquon Barkley
The status of Eagles running back Saquon Barkley for the Week 5 game against the Jaguars in London is uncertain.
Barkley left Sunday’s 24-20 loss to the Rams with a hamstring injury and head coach Nick Sirianni said the team will have a better idea later this week on whether Barkley will miss time.
“Yeah, we’ll see. These guys are going through different things with the treatment and all these different things,” Sirianni said, via a team transcript. “We’ll see how everything responds and we’ll probably have more answers for you on Wednesday about that. I know he’ll do everything he can to come back, and obviously he’s a great player and a great teammate. We still need him on the field.”
Barkley had two carries for eight yards on Sunday. He also missed most of Week 2 with a stinger and has 36 carries for 182 yards this season.
Tank Bigsby is ready for central muscle surgery after being injured against the Rams, the Eagles will therefore be shorthanded even if Barkley can go this week. Will Shipley is the only healthy guard on the 53-man roster.
