‘Nobody Wants That’ Adam Brody’s Mom Reacts to His ‘Free Palestine’ Comments: ‘You’re Taking the Victim and Making the Victim the Abuser’
Tovah Feldshuh, who plays Adam Brody’s mother Bina in the Netflix series Nobody wants thatgave his views on the pro-Palestinian comments.
In a new interview, Feldshuh shared his thoughts after Brody called for a free Palestine.
“Accusing the Jewish people of genocide is insane,” Feldshuh said in an interview with The New York Post. “This is straight out of Hitler’s playbook. You take the victim and you make the victim the perpetrator of the crime.”
Brody, who is Jewish just like Feldshuh, received a lot of attention during a recent interview with GQwhere he denounced Israel’s military actions.
“Describe me as thinking this is genocide. Describe me as wanting a free Palestine,” the actor who plays Rabbi Noah Roklov in the Netflix series told the publication. “It’s horrible that it took so much death and misery, but I feel like we’re reaching a breaking point that should have been a while ago. I hope another administration can really do some good and fix some of these policies that are helping to make this situation as horrible as it is.”
Nobody wants that creator Erin Foster has since said she disagrees with Brody’s point of view.
“You know, it’s complicated. I think our work environment, our decor is very similar to dinner tables around the world where people debate and argue and disagree,” she explained in an upcoming episode of the show. Not skinny but not fat podcast. “As much as I like Adam, I don’t agree with him either. And that’s okay.”
Foster continued: “I think as the creator of the show, all I can say is that I want our Jewish fans to know that I see you and I hear you and I understand how you feel. And the show has always been and always will be a love letter to Judaism. That’s why I made this show. It’s because of the beauty of the experience that I had becoming Jewish and as a Jewish person, and sitting here right now in the world where there is almost no positive representation of Jewish people, I think it’s so important to have that. That being said, everyone is entitled to an opinion different from mine. I can just tell you why I created this series, what the intention of the series is.
