Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang discusses the bottlenecks facing the AI boom and assesses the technology’s impact on jobs, including whether it will ultimately create or eliminate work, in “The Claman Countdown.”

U.S. officials concluded that a former executive at a Singapore-based cloud computing company, suspected of collecting intelligence for the Chinese government, had access to Nvidia’s CEO. Jensen Huangaccording to a New York Times report.

The former executive, Alice Huang or Huang Le, held a management position at a company called Megaspeed that bought chips from Nvidia. Megaspeed uses the chips to build data centers, then rents the computing power, and the report says the company has faced increased scrutiny from U.S. agencies.

THE Times reported that she was under surveillance by U.S. officials charged with preventing China from evading export controls that restrict transfers of high-end AI chips, when they learned that the alleged Chinese intelligence agent had met with Nvidia’s CEO multiple times.

The Times reported that Trump was informed of the situation about a year ago but took no action because U.S. officials at the time did not believe the Nvidia CEO knew it was. collect intelligence for Chinaalthough it is unclear whether intelligence officials have revised that assessment.

Huang was reportedly never warned by U.S. officials about Alice Huang’s alleged intelligence collection for China, although some senior Trump administration officials now doubt that he could have been unaware of her activities on some level.

The Chinese government rejected the allegations, calling them “baseless smears and slanders,” while Nvidia said the CEO’s meetings with Alice Huang were “neither unusual nor unexpected.”

“Customer meetings are part of a CEO’s job; Jensen speaks with thousands of customer executives every year,” an Nvidia spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “We are convinced that if the US government believes that anyone poses a threat to American industry, she would let us know. »

The spokesperson added that “Megaspeed is no different from many other regional cloud customers.”

The White House did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

In January, the Trump administration eased restrictions on Nvidia AI chip exports in China, with the Ministry of Commerce authorizing transfers of Nvidia’s H200 chip on a case-by-case basis.

The president said before the agency’s decision that chip sales would be permitted in exchange for a 25% royalty paid to the U.S. government and added that the deal would be monitored to protect national security interests.
