
Oakland Hills victims were fashion company executives
The man and woman gunned down Friday outside an extravagant home in the Oakland Hills were the CEO and designer of a Berkeley-based fashion brand, according to people familiar with the matter.
Bryan Walker was CEO of Bryn Walker, a fashion design company with two storefronts in Berkeley and one in Massachusetts, according to a LinkedIn page. Michelle Min was the creator of the company, according to a blog post.
Oakland police did not name the victims, who were found outside the home. They died on the spot.
Friday, Oakland Police Asst. Chief Casey Johnson said police do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public and said “we’re not ruling anything out” when asked if it was a murder-suicide.
“Anything is possible until we can conduct a thorough investigation,” he said.
A neighbor told the East Bay Times on Friday that it appeared a married couple lived in the house, in the Oakland hills near the Berkeley border.
KTVU reported that a woman who identified herself as the victim’s sister said her brother-in-law suffered from mental health issues.
Bryn Walker is a women’s fashion brand with two stores in Berkeley, according to its website: one at 1799 Fourth St. and another at 2111 D Vine St. The company launched a fall 2026 collection this year.
A community gathering is planned for Sunday morning at 401 Panoramic Way in Berkeley. Organizers encouraged participants to bring a memento to place near the victims’ homes in their memory.
