
Obama to campaign with El-Sayed and Benson in Michigan
Former president Barack Obama will campaign in Detroit with Michigan Democrats later this month, giving the party a high-profile boost before the state’s early voting period begins.
Obama is set to join Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who is running for governor Jocelyne Benson and other candidates on October 24 the State party announced on Monday.
“It is my honor and privilege to announce that President @Barack Obama joins us on the trail in Detroit on Saturday, October 24,” El-Sayed wrote on social networks. “Prepare.”
The event takes place 10 days before Election Day, with Democrats defending an open Senate seat and the governor’s office.
