There is one Ocarina by TimThe character that, more than any other, I was looking forward to seeing in the new remake: The Bombchu Bowling Alley Operator. She is my hero, somehow managing to carry out the radical act of rest while this carnival song blares over the loudspeakers of her establishment. And! She’s a stone cold fucking villain. The cropped top! The blue pixie cut with side bangs! These Douyin-style lips! Baddie all the way down. She even maintains peak patootie status in her Ocarina 3DS incarnation.

It’s so iconic that people made it a point to track it down at Nintendo’s recent hands-on preview event.

See her in Ocarina redo for quite a stir. It’s like seeing one of your first crushes for the first time in decades. They’re older and not quite like you remember them, but they’re still beautiful. I kinda like his updated style with new features that further strengthen his character. Her black cuffs and dark nail polish add a bit of goth flavor, enhanced by the deeper pinks and purples of her new knit crop top. I can now believe that she is an expert in recreational demolition.

But I must say that its service has diminished a bit from its original polygonal state. It used to be that developers had to do more with less, and her makeup and expressions in particular make her much more emotional in the original. She’s really stupid (even with her eyes closed!) on the N64 and is just… kinda there on the Switch 2.

I love her and I’m glad she’s back even if, like with Link, her appearance doesn’t really have the same punch as it did back then.
