One of Burger King’s Best 2026 Releases Deserves to Be a Full-Time Menu Item

In 2026, Burger King introduced many innovative new items to its menu. But one of the best taste sensations it offered was a limited-edition burger that definitely deserved a spot on its permanent offerings list. The Peppercorn BLT Whopper turned out to be one of the top five things a Tasting Table reviewer ate at BK in 2026, but it’s unfortunately no longer available as of this writing.

The burger was part of the chain’s “Whopper By You” ad campaign, which featured several different versions of the chain’s iconic sandwich in its restaurants. The Peppercorn BLT had Swiss cheese, pepper aioli, bacon, lettuce and tomato on the signature flame-grilled Whopper patty and sesame seed bun.

Tasting Table’s reviewer tried the Peppercorn BLT Whopper and was happy that Burger King still lets people do what they want. Our writer was bowled over by the savory taste and pleasant texture of this take on the classic burger. On top of that, they praised how well the ingredients paired together, and while they noted that the aioli topping was more like a spicy mayonnaise, they nonetheless praised what it brought to the Whopper. “This burger is delicious from top to bottom,” our taster remarked.

What do consumers think of the Peppercorn BLT Whopper? Posters on the Burger King subreddit weighed in with their thoughts, stating that the sandwich created many new fans during its brief release. “It slapped, as the kids say,” one customer said. “This is my jam. I hate that it’s LTO,” another remarked. “Pepper sauces make everything better, shout out to BK,” noted one Redditor.

There were, however, a few naysayers in the crowd. “Hey, I ate it today and it felt like something was missing. It was okay and better than the original Whopper, but the sauce just didn’t add enough for me,” one customer said. “I tried it and it was horrible. No flavor, almost no sauce, so it was pretty dry. I order it without cheese because yuck and a little cheese is now standard on all Whoppers specials. Plus I hate their bacon because it’s tough and chewy,” another Redditor complained. While not everyone is a fan, we still think the Peppercorn BLT Whopper is undeniably one of the best fast food burgers of 2026 — and we hope it’s back in 2027.
