At the end of the first seven months of 2026, the commercial match between the two giants of civil aeronautics is clearly turning to the advantage of Airbus. On Tuesday August 11, the American Boeing revealed its order intake and delivery data for the month of July, which makes it possible to compare the two manufacturers, its European competitor having already made public its own results on Friday August 7.
The Seattle group announced 38 gross order intakes (excluding cancellations) in July, including 18 single-aisle 737 family aircraft and 20 wide-body aircraft (19 B787s and one 777). Furthermore, still in July, Boeing delivered 53 new planes to its customers, including 19 Max. Airbus, for its part, announced 204 orders and 67 deliveries.
In total, and stopping the counter on July 31, Airbus clearly leads the demand game, with 1,090 aircraft ordered since the start of the year (excluding cancellations), compared to 483 for Boeing. The Toulouse-based manufacturer continues to achieve commercial success with its A220 single-aisle aircraft (178 orders) and especially those of the A320 family (773). In this last category, five buyers reached or even exceeded the 100 planes reserved this year: Asian companies (China Eastern, China Southern, and the Malaysian Air Asia, the biggest buyer of the year with 150 orders) and aircraft leasing giants (AerCap and SMBC Aviation Capital).
