OXNARD, Calif. (KABC) — Two people were killed and seven others injured in a devastating multi-vehicle crash that left debris strewn across an Oxnard road Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The accident was reported on Victoria and Doris avenues. Around six to seven cars were involved in the collision.
AIR7 footage showed a mangled vehicle wrapped around an overturned large van whose front end had been heavily damaged. Several damaged vehicles lined up behind the rubble.
A few feet away, near the intersection, a damaged SUV was stopped next to what appeared to be a car engine.
In addition to these two deaths, seven people were injured and hospitalized in unknown condition, authorities said.
Debris from the wreckage was scattered across the roadway.
Authorities closed all lanes of Victoria Avenue between Gonzales Road and Teal Club Road while firefighters and police responded to the scene and investigated the crash.
No additional details on the victims or the cause of the collision were immediately available.
