Packers inactive: Keisean Nixon and Matthew Golden to play against the Panthers
The Green Bay Packers have announced their inactives for their Thursday Night Football contest against the Carolina Panthers. It was assumed the Packers would make five scratches today, but the addition of practice squad edge defender (actually a special teamer) Arron Mosby added an extra number for Green Bay.
Did that mean cornerback Keisean Nixon or receiver Matthew Golden, both of whom were questionable before today’s game, would be a late cut? No, instead tight end Jonnu Smith was added in addition to the expected stripes.
Below are the players who will not play in Green Bay:
With the movement on the offensive line, the players in line for today’s game are Jordan Morgan, Aaron Banks, John Williams, Kevin Zeitler, Anthony Belton, Laken Tomlinson, Jager Burton and Mekhi Becton.
The Packers will also have just three tight ends for the first time all season, and it’s interesting that the team opted to keep Josh Whyle, who has contributed a bit on special teams recently, rather than Smith in the pass catcher role.
Pay attention to the Green Bay line of scrimmage early in this game, because we’re going to get some new looks from them.
