A woman who witnessed her husband being brutally beaten by a crowd of rioters in Paris has described the terrifying attack which left him bloodied.
“It was like a horror movie. I’ve never felt such fear before,” Almudena Garcia told “America’s Newsroom” on Wednesday.
“We were just in the streets of central Paris… We were about to leave, and then we heard screaming, so we turned around and saw one of our friends being beaten up by a group of people, four or five, and then my husband ran towards them to help his friends,” she added.

Garcia, who lives in France, told Fox News that the group turned on her husband and began beating him after he tried to help his friend.
“It happened very, very quickly,” she said.
“There were five at first and four or five more came in two seconds, so I saw my husband being beaten up by ten people.”
Garcia said she screamed for help during the attack, fearing her husband would be seriously injured or killed.
“I was panicking and asking for help,” she said.
According to Garcia, two waiters from a nearby restaurant intervened and pulled her husband inside to protect him from the attackers. She said several members of the group then followed him into the restaurant and continued the assault.

“Thanks to the waiters, they were finally able to get them (the rioters) out… and I walked into the restaurant, and I saw my husband all covered in blood… It was very, very scary,” she added.
The attack comes amid weeks of unrest across France, which began over concerns about poor school conditions and expanded to include protests against the rising cost of living. Some protests turned violent, with rioters attacking police, looting businesses and damaging public buildings.
Paris remained a hotbed of violence, with videos circulating on social media over the weekend showing groups of men damaging property in the capital and other major cities.
Street violence has declined since French authorities imposed curfews in parts of Paris and other unrest-hit cities, according to the Associated Press. Authorities are preparing for new protests on Saturday, October 24.
