Pentagon Pete Hegseth wildly mocked for desperate jogging
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has released another cringe-inducing workout video.
Hegseth recruited hundreds of military personnel to tour the Pentagon with him, wearing matching shirts that read “THIS IS WAR.”
The Defense Ministry released two videos of Hegseth leading the crew on a morning jog.
The Pentagon also released video of Hegseth, seemingly out of breath at times, giving members of the military a pep talk of sorts.
“Last year, when we gave a speech at Quantico, we introduced the War Department’s Golden Rule: Do to your training what you would have done to your son or daughter’s training,” Hegseth said, which he said translates to “no games, no gadgets, no low standards and no excuses.”

During the Quantico speech in question, Hegseth flew military leaders from around the world to Virginia so he could denounce “fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon” and declared that military leaders will have to meet height and weight standards and pass physical training tests, or PTs, every year.
“It all starts with fitness and appearance,” Hegseth told the assembled generals. “If the Secretary of War can perform regular, intensive physical exercise, so can all members of our joint force.”
After the jogging session, Hegseth boarded a helicopter to fly from the Pentagon to Quantico, just 33 miles away, for the performance of his big speech this year.
But the bizarre series of videos showing Hegseth and his team running around the Pentagon is being criticized, especially for the T-shirts, given the extent to which the Trump administration has tried to claim that its war with Iran is somehow not a war.

“We are a ridiculous country,” responded SV Date, HuffPost’s White House correspondent.
“I laughed so hard at this. What performative stupidity,” another user said.
“You realize he’s supposed to be the leader of a massive organization with about 2 million employees, critical to national security, and not a mascot for the military?” said another. “It would be like the CEO of Ford spending all his time driving cars on a test track.”
This isn’t the first time he’s done his workouts online.

The former Fox News weekend host released several videos throughout his tenure as head of the military that purported to showcase his manhood.
He’s posted videos of himself on a spinning bike, doing bench presses, and, most bizarrely, doing pull-ups on a tree with Dr. Oz.

He was also widely mocked for posting a video of himself doing push-ups and pull-ups with HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in what they call “The Pete and Bobby Challenge.”
