People say they want small smartphones: Enough Phone will put that to the test
The first modern smartphones had 3.5-inch screens, which can be difficult to remember in today’s world of gargantuan slabs of glass. Sure, people talk about wanting smaller phones, but will they buy one? Enough Phone bets they will. The company will start taking pre-orders today for its first device, built around a small 5.3-inch screen that’s apparently the smallest it can find with decent performance metrics.
The company’s bold name is reflected in its approach to phone design. It’s not a flagship killer, but it’s probably “good enough” for most people. It features a mid-range MediaTek processor, a single rear-facing camera, a polycarbonate body, and a fingerprint sensor in the power button.

With this compact screen, the Enough Phone will be dwarfed by almost any smartphone in existence. Although it’s a bit thicker, the device has almost the same footprint as the iPhone 13 Mini. The finesse takes a hit, as the designers chose to make the battery user-replaceable. Like on the Fairphone, you just need to remove a few screws to remove the back cover.

On the software side, the device will offer a choice. You can get an Enough Phone with a stock version of Android 17 certified by Google, which is probably what most people will choose. It also supports OdysseyOS, a simplified version of Android that behaves like a stupid phone (it doesn’t even have a browser).
Some minor details are still pending. Designers aren’t yet sure about waterproof and durability ratings, and battery capacity could change. But they hope those specs will increase, not decrease, if they change. Operator support is also unclear at this time. It will be an unlocked 5G phone, and the company is aiming for “broad global support.” But if you’re using a restrictive carrier like Verizon, you might be out of luck.
