Call for Me is a great AI feature for Pixel 11 series. This is one of those quality of life improvements that make Google and its Pixel line the leader in AI smartphones. Previous Pixel AI phone features like Hold for Me and Direct My Call are still extremely useful.
What are Hold for Me and Direct My Call?
With Hold for Me, when you’re in line and put on hold, Gemini monitors the line, leaving you free to flip through the book you’ve been reading, get up to stretch, or run to the kitchen to make a snack. When the other party resumes the call, you receive an audio alert letting you know the conversation is resuming.
Direct My Call lets you avoid listening to menu options and lets you tap the screen to navigate your call
Direct My Call turns automated phone menus into clickable buttons on your screen. This way, instead of having to sit and listen to all the menu options before choosing the one you want, you can look at the screen, find the menu choice you want, and tap it to be sent there.

In many cases, the phone displays all menu options before the automated system has finished speaking. Direct My Call takes those long, sleep-inducing phone trees and turns them into interactive on-screen options.
Call for me debuted on the Pixel 11 series
Coming back to Call for Me, this new feature, available on the new Pixel 11 preview series, uses Gemini AI to make routine phone calls to businesses on your behalf. The feature can call to update your order or ask questions. If you find calling businesses intimidating, Call for Me is a great feature. According to Android Authority, the situation is about to improve. Right now, Call for Me is great for when you need to call a business because it waits patiently during hold music, helps you make reservations, check opening hours, and get information using an AI-generated voice.
The future of Call for Me was revealed in the latest Phone by Google update
Android Authority was able to see the future of Call for Me by delving deeper into some recent updates to the Phone by Google app. The crystal ball seems to show that Call for Me will spread its wings and start calling friends and family members from your Contacts app to deliver messages and more.
If you need help making calls, the aptly titled Call for Me might just be how you call your friends and family members in the future.
