Player Ratings: Barcelona 1–2 Real Madrid
Andrei Lunin: 9. Made five saves, including one of the saves of the season on the head of Gerard Martín. Its distribution was also very good. An exceptional performance on a night when Real Madrid needed him.
Fede Valverde: 8.5. Terrific under pressure and led by example. His defensive positioning was precise and he finished with four interceptions. Brought composure and authority to the right flank.
Ibrahima Konaté: 8. Sent a few messages with tackles that were as precise as they were impactful. An imposing presence at the back.
Dean Huijsen: 8.5. Some shaky passes early gave way to a dominant performance. Cool with the ball at his feet, strong in the air and ready to put his body on the line. Finished with 10 clearances and four blocked shots.
Marc Cucurella: 8.5. Made Lamine Yamal disappear. He was Real Madrid’s World Cup version of Cucurella: tenacious, alert and incredibly difficult to beat. A performance that befits one of the best left-backs in world football.
Bernardo Silva: 7.5. Exactly the profile that Real Madrid needed: a calm, calm and experienced midfielder, capable of calming the team during the preparation phase. I could have defended the goal better, but I covered a ton of ground and pressed relentlessly.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: 9. One of his best performances in the Real Madrid jersey. Made five tackles and repeatedly protected the backline, eliminating the danger before it could develop. His distribution was also very reliable: a passing accuracy of 95.7%, the best on the team.
Arda Guler: 7.5. He could have been stronger with the ball at times, but he made some nice passes into Mbappé’s path and provided vital hockey assist for the winner. He seemed to threaten with his shots, even if the efforts themselves lacked power.
Jude Bellingham: 8. There was a bizarre moment when he failed to make the obvious pass to Mbappé during a two-on-one break. Beyond that, his defensive work has been outstanding and some of his touches in tight spaces have been sensational. Produces absolute magic in preparing for the winner.
Yan Diomandé: 8. An excellent start to the Clasico. He played with the confidence of an experienced veteran at just 19 years old, and his dribbling gave Barcelona problems throughout the evening.
Kylian Mbappé: 8.5. A double takes him to eight goals in seven Clasicos. Mbappé is a Barça killer. His runs in behind gave Barcelona no chance of feeling comfortable and he landed both decisive blows.
Denzel Dumfries: 6. There was a noticeable drop in ball control when he replaced Valverde, but he worked hard defensively to help close out the game.
Eduardo Camavinga: 8.5. Steel balls. His run to give Mbappé the winning goal was incredible – a moment of conviction and quality when Real Madrid needed it most.
Trent Alexander-Arnold: N/A.
