PlayStation officially announces Black Friday 2026 sale

PlayStation has officially announced its upcoming Black Friday 2026 sale. The deals will be available on PlayStation Direct on November 4th at midnight, and the full sale will continue until November 30th. This marks a significant change from last year’s strategy, which limited discounts to the week of Black Friday itself.

As for what the offers will actually include? This year’s announcement is pretty thin on details, simply noting that “you’ll find deep discounts of up to 75% on thousands of PS5, PS4, and PS VR2 games, expansions, and DLC.” You read that right – no mention of consoles, accessories or even PS Plus subscriptions.

PlayStation’s Black Friday 2026 sale is all about gaming

The announcement offers a preview of the games that will go on sale, including some big new releases starting in 2026. We don’t know exactly what the discounts will look like, but you can get a feel for each game by clicking through to IGN’s original reviews:

Retailers like Best Buy and Amazon have already started offering early Black Friday deals, where you’ll find even more discounts on older physical PS5 games like God of War Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima. Yes, records are a touchy subject, I know.

And everything else?

It’s no secret that consoles are ridiculously expensive, so one would hope that Black Friday will be the rare time you can bypass the current MSRP. Unfortunately, PS5 deals don’t look good in 2026.

Sony has traditionally announced a new PS5 game pack for Black Friday, with last year’s pack being Fortnite-themed. This year? No mention of a bundle.

In 2025, Sony dropped a $100 discount on consoles, which virtually wiped out the previous month’s PS5 price hike. In fact, last year Sony announced discounts across its entire hardware lineup, including $20 off the DualSense controllers and $100 off the PSVR2.

This year’s announcement doesn’t include any indication of hardware discounts. That’s not to say the deals won’t happen, but it does suggest they won’t be as good as last year, or perhaps even haven’t been done yet.

The only sign of hope? A small asterisk next to some sale dates.

PlayStation’s announcement states that some discounts will end on November 20 and will be replaced by new offers. This date matches when Sony launched its full console deals last year, so it’s still possible we’ll see a “second wave” of PlayStation Black Friday deals that actually include hardware.

Individual retailers like Best Buy or Amazon may also offer some sort of discount on consoles, but I wouldn’t expect it to be too significant.

All hope is not lost if you’re hoping to get your hands on a current-gen console, especially as we approach perhaps the biggest console-exclusive release of all time. (GTA 6, in case that wasn’t clear.) It might not be all new.

Sony is currently offering $40 off refurbished PS5 bundles with DualSense controllers. The package starts at $518 for digital editionwhile the disc player model manages to $568.

If you’re looking for some extra money to spend on Black Friday, Sony has you covered up to $400 to anyone wishing to get rid of their PS5 console and controllers. It looks like we’re in the midst of a renovation, which likely stems from ongoing inventory issues in the midst of RAMageddon.
