Deputies and senators reached a compromise version on Monday on the Ripost bill on everyday tranquility, which should therefore be definitively adopted in Parliament on Tuesday, we learned from parliamentary sources.
The text of the joint committee was validated by ten votes to two, the central bloc, the right and the far right voting for, while the deputies of the PS group and the LFI group voted against, according to the vice-president of the committee Ian Boucard (LR). The PS senators did not participate in the vote, preferring to discuss with their group before deciding their position, while at first reading the socialists in the Senate had abstained, one of them, Audrey Linkenheld, explained to AFP.

Most of the validated measures
Most of the measures in the bill from Minister of the Interior Laurent Nuñez have been validated, whether it is the ban on the sale of nitrous oxide to individuals, the creation of offenses of organizing and participating in a free party, or even the increased penalties for urban rodeos. The only disappointment for the government: the deletion of an article aimed at strengthening administrative stadium bans, in particular by extending them to other gathering places and over time. The PS, LR and RN voted for the deletion.
Another measure was not retained, which had been introduced to the Assembly via an amendment by Paul Midy (Renaissance), aimed at experimenting with algorithmic video surveillance in businesses. The joint committee reinstated several measures which had been removed in the Assembly, such as the increase in the amount of the Criminal Fixed Fine (AFD) for the consumption of narcotics, or the removal of the retention of recordings from video surveillance devices in police custody premises.
The inclusion of misdemeanor fixed fines in bulletin no. 2 of the criminal record sparked a lively debate, but was retained. Questioned, the former Macronist president of the law commission Sacha Houlié, now attached to the PS group, castigated a “catch-all” text, an arsenal of “ineffective” and “attacking freedoms” measures.
