PSA: Official Apple iPhone Duo Silicone Case Will Require Adhesive to Stick

The iPhone Duo is about a week away from launch, and now that pre-orders are open, official Apple iPhone Duo accessories have started arriving in stores for early purchases. After purchasing, some users noticed that the silicone case has a small caveat.
Apple has designed two cases for the iPhone Duo: a $79 silicone case and a $129 folio case. This concern concerns the first.
With the iPhone Duo Silicone Case, you will actually need to expose the adhesive on the case for it to stick to your iPhone. Apple decided to opt for adhesives rather than using magnets. Presumably the case would fall off if you don’t use the adhesive. This is not a new concept for folding cases.
The unfortunate thing is that you probably won’t be able to swap cases or go caseless as easily, and even if you do, the adhesive won’t be as effective once you remove it.
It’s not a huge deal, but something to keep in mind if you’re considering purchasing Apple’s official silicone case for iPhone Duo. On the other hand, Apple’s Kickstand Folio looks pretty nice, even if it comes with a hefty price tag.
If you’re not interested in Apple’s official cases, some good options include Spigen’s Ultra Hybrid Pro and ESR’s Classic Hybrid with kickstand.
