TAIPEI — Huawei said Monday that mobile chipmaker rival Qualcomm will pay to use its patents for the first time, as part of a cross-licensing deal covering 5G and AI technologies. The deal marks a major step forward for the Chinese company’s intellectual property portfolio, but will trigger regulatory review in the United States.
